The ancient carnival
The carnival of Venice (Italian: Carnevale di Venezia) is the most communicate festival in Europe. Ancient celebrations held in the past for centuries, were stopped in 1797 with the conquest of Venice by Napoleon.
Today's Carnival
In 1980, Venice renewed the tradition. Nowadays, every year, thousands of people fill the bridges, canals and squares of Venice and turn the city into a giant theater stage.

This amount does not include the cost of renting or buying a costume and so those who want to take part in one of the balls, should need a disguise in advance.
