The colorful illumination of the Munsterplatz Square in Bonn is renewed, yearly, and it shines during Advent. (In the Christian calendar, the first season of the church year, a period of preparation for the birth of Jesus.
Advent begins on the Sunday nearest to November 30 and continues until Christmas).
The special light of the flashlights turns the square, the city hall and the nearby streets to an impressive Christmas Market (In German Weihnachtsmarkt).
In addition to the stands of souvenirs and presents, the visitor can enjoy the hotdogs and the hot wine stands. Daily concerts take place for the visitors' pleasure.
