Estival Jazz (Festival) Lugano in Mendrisio - Swiss

The events of the Festival jazz in Mendrisio which are held every year are known as the leading music events in south Switzerland. The concerts are held in open air in Piazzalla alla valle in Mendrisio (located in Ticino region) and in different dates nearby in the old quarter of Lugano.

The festival attracts, every year, thousands of music lovers, locals and tourists. The entrance is free for all the events.

The Swiss Confederation was founded in 1291 as a defensive alliance among three cantons. In succeeding years, other localities joined the original three. The Swiss Confederation secured its independence from the Holy Roman Empire in 1499.
