The international Festival of the Aegean is held, every year, in Syros/ Σύρος island which is part of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. This is a multi-disciplinary event that brings opera shows, choirs singing, dance performances, theater plays and classic concerts.

Known bands, conductors, dance groups, choirs and groups from the leading opera houses in the world participate in this festival.

In addition to the performances, workshops and art classes in poetry and dance take place open to the public. All the festival events, which last for two weeks, are held in Hermoupolis - (Ερμούπολη) the capital of the island, in the glorious hall of Apollo theater which is called also la Piccola Scala.
