An international Jazz fiesta takes place, yearly, on Strasbourg in mid November for two weeks. The best performers from Europe and USA participate in about 40 concerts that are held in the known festival. The festival events attract Jazz lovers from all over the world.

Although ultimately a victor in World Wars I and II, France suffered extensive losses in its empire, wealth, manpower, and rank as a dominant nation-state.
