Madrid Autumn Fair (bullfighting season), Sapin

The Autumn Fair, at Las Ventas bullring in Madrid, takes place at the beginning of October and heralds the end of the national bullfighting season. Madrid has a great bullfighting tradition that has made its season into one of the most important in the world.

The Autumn Fair, with a programme of six bullfights, stands out among the city’s most important bullfighting festivals, along with the San Isidro Fair and the Madrid Region Mini-fair.

Spain's powerful world empire of the 16th and 17th centuries ultimately yielded command of the seas to England.
