Almabtrieb festival is held, yearly, in autumn in a little village named Reith which is located in Tirol region on west Austria. The festival preserves an ancient tradition when the village’s residents celebrate together with lot of guests the return of the big cattle flocks from the mountain pasture to the winter shelters in the village.
Parades of proud farmers who present the fat cows decorated with colored bouquets of flowers walking with the sound of the bells are part of the festival.
In addition a local fair that sells handmade stuff, glass blowing works, woodcarving, basket weaving, various milk products, alcoholic beverages, etc…
