The Reggae festival Summerjam is held, once a year, on the bank of Fühlinger Lake near Cologne. Tens of shows and colored parades take place during this rhythmic festival. The festival lasts for three days in start July.
The festival that started in 1986 got bigger and turned to be one of the biggest Reggae events in Europe.

In January 1999, Germany and 10 other EU countries introduced a common European exchange currency, the euro.
