The New York St. Patrick's Day Parade

When:  Mar 17,  2009

Where:  NYC, United States

St. Patrick's Day Parade is one of the traditional parades which are held in New York every year in mid March. Since 1766 (the first parade) it seems that every body situated in New York during St. Patrick's Day is Irish. Thousands of spectators (locals and tourists) fill the parade's course. The colorful parade starts at 44th Street and passes according to the traditional course through the Fifth Avenue, St. Patrick's Cathedral at 50th Street and Metropolitan Museum of Art at 83rd Street. The Museum's stairs is a wonderful place to watch the parade. Another recommended place is the point where the parade turns east to 86 street. To the New York's visitors like to find a reasonable price room hotel it is recommended to make the reservation in advance. It spite of the fact that the parade is not a commercial one, more than 150,000 people from all over USA and the world participate in it. Lot of Brass bands march in festive uniforms and of course lot of bagpipes bands. This is a giant family parade that creates an unforgettable experience.
