The heavy metal festival Wacken is known as Wacken Open Air. It takes place, yearly, since 1990 in Wacken in North Germany. This is the greatest rock metal music festival in Europe, hence, it attracts thousands of youth. The festival lasts that for three days, holds shows of the leading rock metal bands from Europe, USA, Australia, etc…

Since then, Germany has expended considerable funds to bring Eastern productivity and wages up to Western standards. In January 1999, Germany and 10 other EU countries introduced a common European exchange currency, the euro.
