Znojmo is situated in south east of Moravia region, about 200 km from Prague, near the Austrian border. The city holds every year, vintage celebrations - Znojemske vinobrani. This is a wine festival that is celebrated in a Middle Age style.
The festival marks the maturation of Burcak wine, a semi-ferment wine that ripens in end August – start September. The noisy colored festival and the wine smell that rises from the selling stands attract thousands of celebrators to drink, be happy and go mad in the Old City streets.
Eventfulness is held; parades, folklore dance shows, Middle Age music shows, jugglers, “knight battles” tournament, etc…
The fiesta ends in an impressive fireworks shows that lighten the city skies with colored lights.
