Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) is considered to be the largest electronic music event in the Netherlands. This festival is the highlight and culmination of the five days of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) of celebrations and parties.

Netherlands background and overview
The Dutch United Provinces declared their independence from Spain in 1579; during the 17th century, they became a leading seafaring and commercial power, with settlements and colonies around the world.
