The Belgian Pride Parade, also called Belgian Pride or Pride, is a major LGBTQ+ event in Belgium, held annually in Brussels around May or June, aligning with Pride Month globally.

It’s a lively event with floats, music, and participants from various LGBTQ+ groups, serving as both a celebration of diversity and a platform for advocacy.

Due to the numerous visitors during the festival days and the high demand for accommodations it is recommended to check hotel rates and book rooms well in advance.

The parade route winds through Brussels, attracting supportive crowds. Over the years, it has grown in size and importance, reflecting progress and challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

The event also includes conferences, parties, and cultural activities, promoting inclusivity and equal rights for all.

Belgium background and overview
Belgium became independent from the Netherlands in 1830; it was occupied by Germany during World Wars I and II. It has prospered in the past half century as a modern, technologically advanced European state and member of NATO and the EU. Tensions between the Dutch-speaking Flemings of the north and the French-speaking Walloons of the south have led in recent years to constitutional amendments granting these regions formal recognition and autonomy.
