The Bordeaux International show jumping Contest which is held in Gironde is known as FEI World Cup Jumping, one of the marvelous riding events in the world.

Although ultimately a victor in World Wars I and II, France suffered extensive losses in its empire, wealth, manpower, and rank as a dominant nation-state.
