The Asian community and not only, celebrates every year in the city of Brisbane the Lunar New Year celebrations. 

The BrisAsia festival is a great sequence of events all marked by the culture and traditions of Asian countries. This is a wonderful celebration for the whole family.

During the fascinating days of the festival, the audience will be able to enjoy a huge variety of events and unforgettable cultural experiences.

Among the many activities, visitors will be presented with the unique culture of Asia, where most events are free of entrance fees (some will require payment).

Australia background and overview
Aboriginal settlers arrived on the continent from Southeast Asia about 40,000 years before the first Europeans began exploration in the 17th century. No formal territorial claims were made until 1770, when Capt.
James COOK took possession in the name of Great Britain. Six colonies were created in the late 18th and 19th centuries; they federated and became the Commonwealth of Australia in 1901.
