Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival is held for more than ten years, usually on November. The festival is a music fiesta where diverse music styles are played like swing, jazz fusion, bebop, nuevo tango and more.

The concerts are held on more than 20 stages all around the city, some of it on open air. The concerts are considered as one of the largest, most prominent and beautiful jazz events in Argentina. Some of the concerts are free.

As expected, Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival attracts many visitors, majority of whom are out of town tourists. Admittedly, hotel rooms during this time are in high demand, surging lodging rates quickly. Therefore, it is highly recommended to reserve hotel rooms early on to lock in current, more reasonable, rates.

Since the first days of the festival, which began in 2008, the festival hosts leading international musicians, along with local talents, which create, among other things, a wonderful joint ensemble.

In addition to concerts, unique film screenings, master classes, dance events and jam sessions are open to the general public.

The festival’s program, venue, artists lineup information show time / schedule of events etc. is present in the festival’s link website. See details below, under “Event Related Information” section.

Argentina background and overview
Following independence from Spain in 1816, Argentina experienced periods of internal political conflict between conservatives and liberals and between civilian and military factions. After World War II, a long period of Peronist authoritarian rule and interference in subsequent governments was followed by a military junta that took power in 1976. Democracy returned in 1983, and has persisted despite numerous challenges, the most formidable of which was a severe economic crisis in 2001-02 that led to violent public protests and the resignation of several interim presidents.
