The advent days are the period of the four Sundays before Christmas when the Christian world indicates the event of Jesus revelation.
The glowing lights of the ancient houses create a marvelous decoration for the Christmas Market in the city.
On the Christmas Market days accommodations can be fully booked, hence it is recommended to make a room’s reservations in advance in order to find a room in a reasonable price.
In dozens of wooden huts hand crafts, presents, various decorations side by side with hotdogs, chestnuts, hot cider, Gluhwein and punch are sold. The giant Christmas tree and a presentation of Jesus’ birth (Christmas Nativity scene) that represents the figures of the baby Jesus on a straw platform with Miriam and Josef are unique to the city.
All these create the festive atmosphere of the days prior to Christmas. This is a genuine fiesta for the whole family.
