Lüneburg, which is located 50 km south east to Hamburg, was a center of culture of the region for more than thousands years. Every year, from the second half of November till Christmas, the city holds a beautiful Christmas market.
The market is located in the pedestrian-only street of the historic city, so the ancient houses create a marvelous decoration for the magic market.
The wooden huts are decorated according the Grim Brothers fairy tails.
On the Christmas Market days accommodations can be fully booked, hence it is recommended to make a room’s reservations in advance in order to find a room in a reasonable price.
Various handmade crafts are sold as well as decorations and presents for the coming holiday, side by side with hot chestnuts, hotdogs, candied almonds and apples, hot wine, hot cider, Glühwein and punch which warm the body and souls of the visitors in the cold winter nights.
Opening hours: Daily 10am-7pm
