Every year in Mid October, On Autumn vacation, Cinekid Festival takes place in Amsterdam for eight days. The central events are held in Amsterdam while others are held at different cities in Holland. Cinekid Festival is international festival of children’s television movies and media.

The festival entertains, every year, more than 30,000 children who gain the opportunity to watch over 200 productions designated for children.

The festival presents large variety of movies such as documentary movies, short movies, animated movies, TV series, computer games, etc’ The last four days are dedicated to professionals.

On these days specialists and distributors meet for information and impressions exchange, for innovation on developing and producing media for children.

Netherlands background and overview
The Dutch United Provinces declared their independence from Spain in 1579; during the 17th century, they became a leading seafaring and commercial power, with settlements and colonies around the world.
