The annual parade, which takes place every year on Easter Sunday, turns downtown Richmond, the capital of Virginia, into a large stage when the huge and beautiful procession moves along the long route of the city’s Monument Avenue.
The sidewalks are crowded with a crowd of over 25,000 people who enjoy the sight of the marchers dressed in their best Sunday clothes. The women are wearing colorful Easter bonnet hats and even the pets, cats and dogs, also wear hats and colorful clothes.
In addition, the audience can enjoy various attractions and family-friendly activities, art and crafts stands, food stands, live music shows, special activities for children and more.
