Once a year, in addition to the Marathon race, the half Marathon takes place in Paris. More than twenty five hundred runners, locals and foreigners, participate in the race. The round 21.1 km course passes through the beautiful city streets.
It starts and ends in Esplanade du Château de Vincennes.

Although ultimately a victor in World Wars I and II, France suffered extensive losses in its empire, wealth, manpower, and rank as a dominant nation-state.
