Once a year, since 1967 the Scottish town Balloch becomes a center of traditional sport contests that include in addition to sport, parades and impressive ceremonies.

The Scottish Highland Games started in 1892 and since they take place all over Scotland and among Scottish concentrations in USA, New-Zealand, Australia, etc... Like every year, hotel rooms are in high demand with surging prices during Highland Games days. The traditional games include contests that are not known on worldwide sport. Contests in throwing boles, heavy hammers, iron balls, rocks, etc...

The judges and part of the participants wear Kilt, the traditional Scottish skirt.
