Festival Interceltique Lorient (Goueliou Etrekeltiek An Oriant) is one of the most beautiful “preserving heritage” festival in the world. The festival which takes place, yearly, in Lorient, Brittany – Bretagne county attracts thousands people, mostly Celts’ descendents, locals and tourists from various places.
The Celts’ legacy which is preserved up to now is expressed in music and typical dance styles founded in the Irish tradition. Due to the numerous visitors during the festival days and the high demand for accommodations it is recommended to check hotel rates and book rooms well in advance.
In the ten days of the festival, the visitors enjoy the wonderful music that is heard all over the city and the folklore dance shows performed by professional dancers side by side with groups of locals and tourists who participate in spontaneous dances of Celt, Bretagne, Irish and Scottish styles.
In addition to the street fuss, concerts played with traditional musical instruments are held in covered halls.
