In the Festival of Paris gardens, the city indicates the start of autumn. During the two days of the festival, the area around Notre Dam church is turned to a giant garden and the visitors can participate in gardening workshops or meet the garden designers of the city.

In addition, fiestas are held in all the gardens and parks in the 20 quarters of Paris, include those that are usually closed to public. The visitors can enjoy hundred of culture and art shows, concerts, exhibitions, etc…

Although ultimately a victor in World Wars I and II, France suffered extensive losses in its empire, wealth, manpower, and rank as a dominant nation-state.
