GuÄa brass band festival is held, every year in August, in the little Serbia town GuÄa which is located 150 km south of Belgrade. The town with its two thousands residents preserves the tradition and the Serbian/Balkan music style – a unique Gypsy music that is known, among the other, from the movie “black cat – white cat” by Goran Bregović.
This is a festival of folklore rhythmic music accompanied by traditional dance and folklore colored dresses. Like every year, hotel rooms are in high demand with surging prices during festival days. Therefore, it is highly recommended to book lodging accommodations ahead of time to enjoy preferable, better rates.
During the festival’s days, spontaneous dances of little and big groups that dance to the rhythmic music of drums and brass bands, are seen all over the lively town.
The joy of the celebrators, the beer that is poured all over, the great music and the noisy bands parade promise the visitors an authentic event of folklore Gypsy culture.
The festival’s program, lineup information and the admission fee cost are present in the festival’s website.
