The London to Brighton Summer Veteran Car Run held in the summer in addition to the race held in November. It is one of the world’s oldest motoring events and is specifically for veteran cars, which are automobiles built before 1905.
Participants in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run drive their historic vehicles from Hyde Park in London to the coastal town of Brighton.
The event commemorates the Emancipation Run of 1896, celebrating the Locomotives on the Highway Act, which raised the speed limit for “light locomotives” from 4 mph to 14 mph and abolished the need for a person to walk in front of the vehicles.
The run’s program, information, schedule of events, etc. is present in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run’s link website. See details below, under “Event Related Information” section.
