About Sjón Band

The name of the band comes from an Icelandic writer and novelist Sigurjón Birgir Sigurðsson widely known as Sjon.

The next success of the group was a gig at Heineken open'er festival 2012 the main outdoor / summer polish music festival.
It is worth mentioning that the band lived to see a concert at one of the most prestigious music festivals in less than a year of existence.
The musical style of Sjón was inspired, among others, by both rock and electronic music.  Sjón get inspiration from British music (Radiohead, Portishead, Block Party) and Nordic music (Björk Sigur Rós). What is characteristic for the band is the distinctive and falsetto-like vocal with lots of deep reverb.
