Once a year, for three weeks, Niagara Icewine Festival is held. The festival is dedicated to the Icewine of Ontario which is a unique dessert wine made of grapes that froze prior to the vintage while still on the grapevine.

During the festival’s days, the whole Niagara region turns into one giant winery fiesta. Thousands of enthusiastic wine lover guests come to tasting tours in the local wineries. Like every year, hotel rooms are in high demand with surging prices during festival days. Therefore, it is highly recommended to book lodging accommodations ahead of time to enjoy preferable, better rates.

The festival’s program, venue, schedule of events, how to get, parking etc, is present in the festival’s link website. See details below, under “Event Related Information” section.

For accommodations, check the most recommended hotels in Niagara-on-the-Lake and around, most of them suggest FREE CANCELLATION option or NO PREPAYMENT NEEDED – PAY AT THE PROPERTY:

Canada background and overview
A land of vast distances and rich natural resources, Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867 while retaining ties to the British crown. Economically and technologically the nation has developed in parallel with the US, its neighbor to the south across an unfortified border. Canada's paramount political problem is meeting public demands for quality improvements in health care and education services after a decade of budget cuts. Canada also faces questions about integrity in government following revelations regarding a corruption scandal in the federal government that has helped revive the fortunes of separatists in predominantly francophone Quebec.
