Since 1998, Veliko Tarnovo international folklore festival is held, once a year, in the old capital of Bulgaria and its surroundings.
This festival is known as the biggest of the folklore festivals of the Balkan. Local bands together with over 120 bands from dozens of countries present the unique folklore from different areas of Bulgaria.
The presence of numerous tourists during the festival cause overcapacity at the city hotels hence it can be difficult to find a room in a reasonable price. The mass of tourists as well as the locals enjoy the Bulgarian music and the colorful dressed dancing groups.
The worldwide bands create an universal and pleasure atmosphere for the visitors.
