The Bohemian Carnevale of Prague, as similar carivals in various cities of the Christian world is celebrated with colorful parades acompeied with wind instruments bands, music, clowns and dances.
The carnival continues a Czechs tradition from the Middle Ages. Nowadays the carnival reproduces the anciant festivs which were celebrated yearly before the lent.
The carnival lasts for ten days and is celebrated in the open air all over the city as well as in museums, galeries, theaters and schools.
