The onion festival was established in 1653. This unusual and special event takes place annually in the onion market of the city of Weimar. The happy and fragrant event attracts about 300,000 visitors every year.
The event promises not only lot of variety of onions but also beer and food counters, sort of sports contests and a contest of choosing the ”Queen of the onion”.
