The Winter Marathon of Madonna di Campiglio takes place yearly in mid January. Only cars that are minimum 40 years old can participate in the race.

The rounded course of the 500 km race crosses the main Dolomites pass. It starts and ends after three days in the middle of the town. The participants pass through amazing views of the white snowy mountains.

Watching the old cars performance while climbing the steep upwardness, traveling on the course that is covered with snow and ice provides the lovers of the motorist sport an enjoyable experience.

Italy background and overview
Italy became a nation-state in 1861 when the regional states of the peninsula, along with Sardinia and Sicily, were united under King Victor EMMANUEL II. An era of parliamentary government came to a close in the early 1920s when Benito MUSSOLINI established a Fascist dictatorship.
