Toronto Santa Claus Parade

Once a year, the 3rd Sunday in November in view of Christmas, Toronto holds a festive season parade dedicated to the coming holiday and Santa Claus. This is a numerous event with more than 500,000 specators.

Due to the numerous visitors during the festival days and the high demand for accommodations it is recommended to check hotel rates and book rooms well in advance.

The old parade preserves a tradition that started in 1905 as a small parade but, with the years, it turns to one on the greatest parades in North America. Along the six km parade the audience can be impressed by lots of bands and tens of decorated floats with 1,700 participants in entertainment shows, music and festive dance. The parade route, directions and handy tips are displayed in the parade website.

Canada background and overview
A land of vast distances and rich natural resources, Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867 while retaining ties to the British crown. Economically and technologically the nation has developed in parallel with the US, its neighbor to the south across an unfortified border. Canada's paramount political problem is meeting public demands for quality improvements in health care and education services after a decade of budget cuts. Canada also faces questions about integrity in government following revelations regarding a corruption scandal in the federal government that has helped revive the fortunes of separatists in predominantly francophone Quebec.
