Chakri Day is celebrated once a year, on April 6th, to indicate the establishment of the royal dynasty – Chakri. The current king, his majesty the king Rama the 9th Bhumibol Adulyade is a descendent of this dynasty. The main events take place in Bangkok in a religious ceremony in honor of the former kings.
HM the king and his entourage including HM the queen, the royal family and the government ministers sit at the head of the ceremony. This is a patriotic day and the nation flags are raised up everywhere. Traditional ceremonies and fiestas are held. The citizens of Thailand express their love and honor to the kingdom and their beloved king.
